HOUSTON, February 11, 2009 -- Cooper Industries, Ltd. (NYSE:CBE) will hold a meeting with investment analysts on Thursday, February 19, 2009 to discuss the Company's business outlook for the year. The meeting will include presentations by Cooper's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Kirk Hachigian and other members of its corporate and division management teams. The presentations will highlight the Company’s significant exposure to certain elements of the proposed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, in particular energy efficiency, energy reliability and delivery and the modernization of the electrical grid.
“Over the past few years, we have been discussing Cooper’s unique position to several key long-term global trends - the need for utilities to provide better reliability and productivity through energy demand management, the increasing need for electrical products to become more energy efficient, the global infrastructure build-out and the need to ensure safety of people at work and in their daily lives. The current version of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 will help accelerate U.S. investment in several of the long-term trends that we have identified and built into our long term strategy. We have introduced over 40 new energy efficient products over the past year and our Cooper Lighting division’s Halo® LED recessed downlight is the first to earn ENERGY STAR approval for solid state lighting luminaires. This accomplishment is the result of significant investment, both organically and through acquisition, to build-out energy efficient growth platforms and demonstrates our commitment to delivering game changing products. We will use our February 19 Outlook Meeting to not only discuss our business outlook for the year, but also highlight our broad portfolio of products that should benefit from the proposed U.S. stimulus package.”
